Watch Around Water

The ARC supports the WATCH AROUND WATER program and follows their pool supervision guidelines.

Watch Around Water Pool Supervision Guidelines

All children under the age of 14 years old require a parent to be accessible within the facility, this means parents/guardians must remain in the pool area whilst their child is swimming.

WATCH AROUND WATER & LEARN TO SWIM

Children enrolled in The ARC Learn to swim program are encouraged to use their unlimited pool access included in their Learn to Swim fees. However, if your child is Under 14 – Watch Around Water still applies and below are the details of how you access with your child by age.

Watch Around Water and Learn to Swim

Additional safety rules/tips:

  • We know the carpark can be busy at times, however please do not let your Under 14 year old child enter The ARC without a parent/guardian. This is against the Water Around Water principles. Please also ensure you remain in the pool area (if they are Under 10) or on site (if they are 10-14 years old) the entire time during their lesson or swimming time.
  • We encourage any Learn to Swim child who is Under 5 to visit our Lifeguard or Customer Service team for a special Watch Around Water wristband when they are swimming outside of lesson time. This lets our Lifeguard team easily locate our young swimmers and ensure they are accompanied in the water to be a safe swimmer.

WATCH AROUND WATER RATIOS

Safety is paramount when visiting any pool with your little ones. The Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations (GSPO) describe the supervision requirements for parents/guardians when visiting public pools.
