Our Learn to Swim program provides continual learning for our students all year round. Lessons are conducted 47 weeks of the year to allow for consistent learning and to provide students with the opportunity to progress through levels at a faster rate. We are an Austswim Recognised Swim Centre, with all instructors fully qualified in Swimming and Water Safety Instruction, giving you peace of mind that your child will receive high quality aquatic education.

Classes are held in the kids pool zone. This pool contains an integrated wheelchair accessible ramp to support access for all patrons.

Catering to students of all ages and abilities, Learn to Swim classes are conducted for infants and pre-school children right through to teenage and adult programs.

The ARC Learn to Swim Program has very limited capacity for new enrolments and do not maintain a waitlist.

FEE STRUCTURE

By enrolling in the Learn to Swim program, students gain unrestricted access to the aquatic facilities. Learn to Swim membership includes the following benefits:

• Weekly lessons
• Unlimited access for student to aquatic area to practice skills
• Convenience of fortnightly direct debit payments
• 2 weeks free suspension of membership each calendar year.

Children's Lessons

Parent/Toddler Lessons and Preschool Lessons are scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Parent/toddler classes are also held Monday and Thursday afternoons and Preschool lessons are held every weekday afternoon.

School Aged Lessons are scheduled on weekday afternoons and Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Squad

Our squad sessions are available for swimmers who have completed the highest level of our Learn to Swim program. Sessions are held Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm, Thursdays 5:15-6:15pm and Saturdays 8:00-9:00am.

Adult Lessons

Adult Lessons are available for beginner and intermediate level students. Please be aware we have a high demand for these classes and wait times may apply. Minimum booking of 4 lessons is required for adult lessons.

Health Fund Rebates

You may be able to claim back a portion of Learn to Swim expenses through Bupa and HCF health funds. Please contact your health fund for further information.

ASSESSMENTS AND PROGRESSION

Initial Class Placement and Assessments

Children aged 6 months to 3 years will be placed into classes by age group. Children aged 3 years and older will be placed into classes by ability. If your child is 5 years old or over, your child will receive a FREE assessment if required prior to booking into a class to ensure they are placed in the correct level for their ability.

Ongoing Assessment, Student Progression and Certificates

Your child’s progression is monitored by their instructor and the Learn to Swim Team Supervisors and will be assessed in line with the following schedule.

To check your child's progress, login to the online portal and click ‘Classes’ then ‘Class Progress’.

If you have any queries about your child’s progression, please don’t hesitate to contact the Learn to Swim Team Supervisor during lesson times on pool deck.

Children will be given a certificate and progressed to the next class when they have satisfactorily completed the aims of their class, regardless of the current week of the year (subject to space availability).

NO LESSON PERIODS

• Thursday 28 March - Wednesday 3 April 2024 inclusive (Easter break)
• Monday 16 December 2024 - Sunday 12 January 2025 (Christmas/New Year Break)

There are no lessons held on public holidays. Fortnightly payments will be automatically reduced for lessons falling on a public holiday.

MAKE-UP LESSON POLICY

Each student enrolled in the ARC Learn to Swim program is entitled to a maximum of twelve (12) makeup lessons per calendar year. To be eligible for makeup lessons, you must notify The ARC of the student’s absence a minimum of one hour before the scheduled lesson commencement time. You can notify us via the online customer portal, by phone, by email at learntoswim@campbelltown.sa.gov.au or in person at the reception desk. Please note, if the ARC receives less than the required notice the student will not be entitled to a makeup lesson.

• Makeup lessons are subject to class availability and we cannot guarantee the same instructor.
• Booked makeup lessons cannot be rescheduled.
• Makeup bookings can only be booked 7 days in advance.
• Makeup lessons must be used within 10 weeks of the initial scheduled lesson, or by the end of the calendar year in which they are accrued, whichever is sooner.
